Scaling our support
LEYF’s history dates all the way back to 1903. Since becoming a social enterprise in 2009, we have expanded from 19 to 43 nurseries across 13 London boroughs. In these nurseries, we give London’s children the best start in life, by providing access to high quality, affordable Early Years education and care. Our strategic ambition is to transform Early Years education and care in the UK, so that all children have an equal opportunity to succeed.
The LEYF approach
Our approach to bringing new nurseries into the LEYF family is consistent with our values. We put children, staff and parents at the heart of our integrations to ensure a smooth transition and nurturing experience.
LEYF has a dedicated team to support acquisitions and integrations, and work in partnership along the journey. We offer all staff competitive salaries and benefits, and industry-leading learning and development opportunities through our training academy, The London Institute of Early Years. We provide high quality education and care for all children, affordable options for parents and even free places for some.
We recently celebrated one year in Newham, where we took on three nurseries that were otherwise at risk of closure.

What we’re looking for
While we have a common LEYF Pedagogy, all LEYF nurseries are unique – both because of the local community needs and because of the spaces. We currently operate in a variety of settings, including schools, leisure centres and converted houses. We are open to new property developments and conversions, as well as looking for nurseries (or nursery groups) to acquire that would be a good fit for the LEYF portfolio.
We’re looking for:
- Properties in Greater London
- Internal area of 3000+ sq ft (capacity of 50+)
- Outdoor garden area of 1000+ sq ft
- Leasehold or freehold
